Hey Winnie, how's space treating you?

There were certain advantages to being an Admiral, one of which was to get where he wanted to go whenever he wanted. Pike also still enjoyed some measure of hero status with some officers out there, which meant he got where he wanted to go faster. Two days of traveling to Starbase 53, some bribery and a little choreographing when the crew left and returned the Lexington, and Pike found himself alone in the personal quarters of Chief Engineer Winona Kirk.

The rose he brought with him managed to stay relatively intact, which impressed him to no end. He sat at her desk and wondered if she would be expecting a Valentine's Day gift like this.

Pike went out to Mojave Christmas Eve and decorated his house with a little help from his sister. The tree was in the corner of the room by his bookshelves. Winnie has two gifts under the tree.
