Pike knew no good was going to come of this.
He volunteered if only because Jim insisted he do it, to comm Winona Kirk and tell her her daughter was dating an Admiral. Not just any Admiral either. Him. Someone old enough to be her father, someone who KNEW her father.
He was so screwed.
Pike placed the comm from his ranch house, and marked it personal. He wasn't in uniform as it wasn't Starfleet buisness, and made sure Jim could hear what was going on but not be seen. Pike found a channel and sent the transmission, hoping this would all turn out ok....
He doubted it.

Jan. 30th, 2010 04:27 pmPike couldn't believe six weeks had gone by since that weekend supply run. It seemed a little easier since he and Jim were talking daily, either by written, voice, or video comm. Jim sounded happy to hear from him. He'd also just received word that Admiral Archer approved his change in position, and he was now running Starfleet Academy. He figured it was about time to contact his sister Dierdre, and tell her about all the changes in his life in recent months. She hated it when she's out of the loop for too long.

Jan. 10th, 2010 06:27 pm"What are you doing?" Pike asked himself as he looked over at a sleeping Jim Kirk. She was curled up against his side, her head resting against his chest. His arm was draped along her back. This was so wrong. If anyone found out, both of their careers could be ruined. She would, most likely, lose the Enterprise if Command found out. They'd assume Pike showed her favoritism, based on their relationship, which couldn't be further from the truth. Suggestions would be made that he retire. Being an Admiral was no where near as much fun as being a Captain, but at least it was something. Retirement to him was like signing his death certificate, nothing left to do but sit somewhere and wait until the end.
