Writers Muses: 132.8 "First Meetings"
Jun. 21st, 2010 12:21 amPike just settled into his office aboard the USS Yorktown, and waited for the arrival of his new Executive Officer, Newly Promoted Commander Morgan Lefler or as those at lunch earlier today called her, Commander Ice Queen, and proceeded to rag on Chris. His first female bridge officer was of course the only one in the entire fleet who didn't elect to wear the skirt uniform option and it just went down hill from there.
The crux of the discussion was this: Rumor had it Lefler was as efficient as a computer and had just as much warmth. Branagh, who Pike always thought was a chauvinist jerk, went so far as making a comment about her looks. Pike quickly pointed out that she wasn't eye candy for the bridge, and should be treated like any other officer.
As he sat at his desk, he assumed they were all exaggerating. Most of them were probably upset they didn't get to stare. He supposed he'd find out soon enough. She was due in his office a 0930, it was currently 0928.
