Prompt 15: Fate, Chance, Destiny
Sep. 8th, 2009 11:55 pmThe Enterprise had been gone for weeks, and Pike was stuck in his wheelchair for just as many weeks. He'd gone through the psychiatric evaluations and begun physical therapy. Life was different that he ever expected and certainly much different than he could have imagined while responding to a distress call at Vulcan.
Pike couldn't help but wonder, how different was he in the time line Nero came from? He'd read Kirk's report that stated James T. Kirk was a great man. Was Christopher Pike? Did he come out of this mess with Nero better or worse than his counterpart? How did he die? When did he die? Is the same fate destined for him at some point in this time line?
What types of things decided how lives turn out? Was it something he had control over or is it all effected by things like time traveling Romulans? He supposed he'd never know.
